Who are you?

In the next couple of weeks, those enlisted in Shoot Camp will receive a questionnaire that will include info from you to help us know exactly what to teach.

Example:

What do you shoot most?
What do you want to learn?
What is your T-shirt size?

The point is, we want to teach you what YOU want to know.
The basics will be covered, but we want to make sure you can apply them to what you're shooting most whether it's cows, kids or countrysides.

Shoot Camp is for people who love photography and want learn to shoot their digital SLR off the AUTO mode. This class is not designed for professional photographers. This is designed to be a fun learning environment where you will be able to apply minimal classroom knowledge with actual hands-on learning. If the majority of you will be shooting kids, we will bring in a kid and you will shoot them (with your camera, smarties). If you enjoy shooting flowers, we will bring them in .. etc.

You can enlist today, by emailing SHOOTCAMP@gmail.com.

SGT. Sarah B. - Bio

SGT. SARAH B.
SARAH B. GILLIAM

As a kid, Sarah wouldn't stick with ANYTHING: she tried softball, ballet, painting, gymnastics, girl scouts, boy scouts, guitar lessons, swimming lessons. She did hang in there with one thing (you guessed it): photography.
Sarah went straight to work from high school as an obituary writer (hired on for her pretty handwriting) before working her way up to photojournalist for two newspapers. She finished her degree in photography then went on to The Tennessean before becoming a freelance photographer. Her journalism background is a clear indicator of her love of documentary photography and her preferred style.

the facts:

- Sarah constantly brags about how funny she is.
- Sarah is somewhat funny.
- Sarah is writing this in the third person and thinks that's funny.
- She is a mama to Jack, an adorable 2-year-old with bed head issues who loves music.
- Sarah knew she was going to marry Patrick in the 10th grade, but didn't until 10 years later.
- In high school, she was voted "most mischievous."
- She loves film far more than memory cards.

SGT. Shea Boom - Bio

SGT. SHEA BOOM
SHEA HALLIBURTON

Shea was raised in Clarksville, Tennessee, making music videos with her sisters, filling notebooks with drawings and chasing peacocks on the farm. She received a BFA in Graphic Design and spent hours in the darkroom before digital cameras were 'cool.' Sweet home Alabama called her name for an internship with Southern Living Magazine and four years later became Art Director and freelance photographer for a local lifestyle magazine.

In 2006 she was asked to photograph her cousin's wedding... enter a Digital Rebel and the panicked 'how to photograph a wedding' google search. At the end of 2010, she will have captured 62 weddings and over 200 portrait sessions. That's approximately 275,000 clicks of a button.

Shea's strengths: mix cds and hugs.
During college, Shea held four jobs, one being a middle-school-party DJ.
DJ name: shicka shicka boom boom.
Nickname ever since: Shea boom, boom boom or just plain boom.

Shea's weakness: the left lazy eye and ZERO depth perception. Therefore, is the opposite of athletic, a pretty horrible driver and a fear things being thrown at her.

Weapons of choice:
Canon 5D Mark II
24-70mm 2.8 and 50mm 1.4 lenses
Holga 120 (medium format film)
